The Oneness Gospel Interview

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 7 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Charlene M. Proctor whose book The Oneness Gospel: Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You launches on Amazon on Tuesday April 24, 2012.

Author Charlene M. Proctor, Ph.D. has written a new book that brings us back to the Essence of true spirituality. The book, entitled The Oneness Gospel: Birthing the Christ Consciousness and Divine Human in You, is a rich mix of science, spirituality and mysticism that transcends the boundaries of religion, and uplifts the reader to that place of Oneness. An ordained Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking and a Deeksha facilitator trained by the oneness guides from Fiji and India, Charlene’s mission in life is to help awaken to their Divine magnificence within all humanity.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Charlene when I got to ask her some questions on her story, Oneness Movement and Divine Human. I hope you enjoy it.

Eva Gregory: Can you tell us the story behind the book, The Oneness Gospel?

Charlene M. Proctor: After experiencing much personal suffering in my family, I began to experience physical illnesses. I became intrigued with the idea of deeksha as a means to release emotional trauma from the energy layers in the body. I received this blessing and energy from Sai Maa and Amma Amritanandamayi many years ago. These were my first introductions to deeksha and darshan from holy masters. I experienced what it felt like to release suffering and open my heart and to feel being loved unconditionally.

Studying the works of Yogananda and going back to the New Testament made me realize that truth is universal. God’s grace arrives in uncountable forms and is always available to everyone. It’s free. In the Oneness community, grace is seen as a means of healing.

In the past, deeksha was given only by masters, but now human consciousness is rising to point that we are all able to “tune in” and project this grace with a healing intention to others. I like this idea and pursued it for several years.

During my research, I discovered the Oneness teachings as given in India. They originated in Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan, two people who consider themselves one unified, avataric consciousness. They are God-realized and were initiating the collective force of unified consciousness in the form of something called the Oneness Blessing. It’s actually deeksha, but the difference between them and all who have gone before is that they are teaching everyone how to give it. They are interested in creating individual change through this neurobiological event, which they say happens through grace. Once you invite that energy into you, it’s there to stay. I thought this was a wonderful idea. It helped inspire the material and lessons in The Oneness Gospel.

After I discovered the teachings in Fiji and India, I noticed their congruence with the teachings of Jesus. They are simple, interfaith, and universal. Given the polarized society we live in today, these unity-oriented lessons on personal transformation are very exciting.

I enjoyed traveling to Fiji and India and meeting Bhagavan and all the Dasas who were teaching the material. The experiences I had with the blessing were extraordinary. The spiritual training I received with people from all parts of the planet was exceptional. It helped me personally awaken to a new and enriched way of living.

Eva Gregory: What exactly is The Oneness Movement?

Charlene M. Proctor: Oneness is not a religion, cult or faith that demands your conversion or change in your beliefs or practices. It is a system that helps you discover the truth of your own faith through a direct personal experience of the divine. It is not an alternative path but a natural fulfillment of your every spiritual aspiration.

The purpose of the Oneness Movement is to awaken the human family, offering a gift of grace of spiritual opening (flowering of the heart) to all people rather than a few selective seekers as in the past. It is meant to restore wholeness within humanity as well as with the world environment. The Oneness Movement teachings are coming from India are currently helping millions of people around the world awaken to a greater sense of self-worth and boundless joy.

Eva Gregory: Can you talk a little bit about the process of becoming a Divine Human?

Charlene M. Proctor: The Divine Human is one who knows their True Self. The Divine self, or the antaryamin (Divine Indweller) is the higher self, or the god or realized self. It is the knowledge that we are unlimited because we can never be outside of All That Is. When we open up to this, we expand our potential on many levels: in work, in our relationships, in our ability to love and be joyful.

We can never understand or experience God through someone else’s eyes, nor experience the same self-development path of another individual. All humans will be on their own individual path to this knowledge, in this lifetime or in other lifetimes. All truth is developed through individual insight. However, the following principles will help guide your path, and help you to be more authentic and at ease with life during your process. These principles speak to universal truth and the essence of what it means to lead a spiritual life:

1. First understand yourself and your relationship to the Divine.

2. Know that the journey begins where you are, not where you want to be. Consider life as it is and accept it. See reality clearly. Put your spiritual development at the top of your list.

3. Revere the Divine. Live with awareness of your inner God. Place the creator where he belongs: in you.

4. Love God with your heart and soul. Feel the freedom and joy of doing so.

5. Seek truth everywhere, and don’t limit yourself to one faith or wisdom tradition. Read. Question everything. Come up with a version that works for you.

6. Invite God’s love. Ask for grace and know you are never alone.

7. Be authentic. Learn to be at ease with yourself. Authenticity lays the groundwork for self-love.

8. Be a spiritual peacemaker. See yourself as the change you wish to see in the world. Be peaceful and open to forgiveness.
9. Choose to live in the energy of unconditional love and abandon your judging mind. Learn to love the experience of life, free from conditioning and negativity.

10. Adopt spiritual practices that make sense to you and understand their meaning. Pray with passion and clarity. Meditate often.

11. Use auspicious language and don’t allow your thoughts and words to turn into negative stories and illusions.

12. See God everywhere. Mention God often. Talk about God and say “God” with gusto.

The False Dichotomy – Part 2

What are the “rules” of the game when it comes to spirituality and money? We came forward to play at being a human being. And being a human being means that we are spiritual beings and physical beings…and material goods and money are certainly part of being a physical being.

There is no inherent superiority in being poor or in being rich. Yet I have found when I am in alignment with my Soul, there are certain attributes in how I manifest money and material goods. In other words, while I know that ultimately there is no right and wrong, I find that from my Soul’s perspective, being honest and ethical in my dealings with people and coming from service, puts my physical conscious self in alignment with my spiritual self. Therefore that type of behavior is something I want to practice in my business dealings and in how I make my living and make a difference.

And in my experience, others are coming to this conclusion for themselves. There are many who will say that the world has gone through a period of intense greed and dishonest behavior that has ultimately brought down the world economy. And yet, we have an opportunity to acknowledge a different reality moving forward. We can choose to be much more open and much more responsive to behavior that looks out not only for one individual’s good, but also factors in the good of others in our experience. This does not mean that we have to be responsible for everybody else, but simply that integrating our own good with the good of others is going to be a more positive path and will in fact lead to more abundance and wealth all around.

What is being seen as the collapse of the economy actually is a tremendous time of opportunity. Don’t get caught up in the anxiety and the fear that is spread by the media and maybe even by friends and family. Understand that we don’t have to live in the mentality of scarcity. We can live with the mentality of abundance for all. And if you tie that in with what I outlined above and then tie that into tapping into your own creativity and your own passion for what you want to be, do, have and experience in this physical realm, then you have a winning strategy. So in that case, the “rules” of the game for spirituality and money become:

* Do what you love
* Live from your Soul’s perspective
* Be aware of the good that you can do for yourself and others in your experience
* Know that there is abundance of wealth for everyone

Now we have a game of Life worth playing.

Let This Be YOUR Year!

New Year! The perfect time to make new plans, set new goals and dream BIG! There is a positive, invigorating energy that surrounds the start of a brand new year, an energy that helps us let go of the old and stake a claim for the new. It can also be a time when you ask yourself some important questions, like, “What is my greater purpose in this life? Am I living it? And do my New Year’s goals and dreams support this purpose?”

The question of life purpose seems to surface more and more these days. I believe this is due to the fact that we’ve entered a time where we’re being asked to bring all of who we are, our Higher Selves and our connection to Source, into every aspect of our lives. No longer can we keep our spirituality separate from our work-a-day business life. We know too much! We know that the key to our inner happiness and worldly success lies in our willingness to merge our Higher Selves and our connection with Spirit into every aspect of our lives.

What about you? Have you been feeling this “urge to merge?” If so, how has this affected the way you think about your life purpose? Has it helped define and clarify your purpose? Or is it causing a bit of confusion and uncertainty?

If you’re experiencing uncertainty about your own higher purpose in this life, believe me, you are not alone! Everyone goes through some kind of “identity crisis” when it comes to their purpose. It’s a natural part of our evolution. So, let me help you through this common mini-crisis.

First, you were brought into this world through the power of love, and you were meant to do that which comes from LOVE. The more you are able to connect with that power of Love, the clearer your life purpose will become.

You were also meant to express your unique gifts and talents in the world. When you do, you automatically operate from the broader, all-knowing, wiser part of yourself. Perhaps you’ve had the experience (or several experiences) when you were offering your talents in some way and you felt an easy joy and peace. Your actions felt effortless, natural and in the flow. This is a clear indication that you are in alignment with your higher purpose!

Another way for you to gain perspective on your purpose is to ask yourself, “Who can I serve well? Who is my ideal client?” By defining how you can best serve, you may gain greater clarity on your higher life purpose. Remember to seek only those clients who are a perfect match for you and let the rest go. Because if they aren’t ideal for you, you’re not ideal for them, and you do yourself and them a disservice by hanging on.

These are a few clues for you to consider when seeking to know your higher purpose, but if you want to cut to the chase, go directly to Source and ask! Why go on a treasure hunt when the treasure is available now?

Your Guidance, your Higher Self already knows your higher life purpose… and is more than willing to let you in on the deal! This is the Guidance you were born with, the Guidance you were meant to have, access and channel into your work, your life and your world.

I feel as if my higher life purpose has evolved and gotten clearer with every passing year. As I look back on my career, I can see how my Guidance nudged me out of the computer industry and into coaching so I could fully share my gifts and allow my actions to spring from a place of Divine Love. As I started accessing more and more of my own Guidance, my business took off! And I knew it was because I was paying attention to my Guidance and aligning with my life purpose.

Then four years ago, when I started channeling my loving non-physical guides known as Theos and helping others to channel their own Guidance, I realized that my work was not merely aligned with my higher purpose; my work was my higher purpose. And as a result, I’ve never been happier, more certain or more fulfilled. The more I listened to my Guidance and merged my spiritual self into my business and practical life, the more successful and joyous I became.

Now, I want to help you create your own success story. I want to help you establish your own reliable connection to Divine Guidance and then use that Guidance in your business and every day life so your message, services and actions are aligned with your highest purpose. The False Dichotomy – Part 1

Many people have come to see the year 2012 as the dawn of a new age, a new era in human consciousness and human awareness. And for many of these same people this feeling of a huge spiritual awakening is creating an age-old dilemma. This dilemma is the apparent contradiction between spiritual well being and financial well-being. This is, in fact, a false dichotomy, which causes much unnecessary suffering.

This feeling that material goods and financial security are somehow opposed to spiritual awakening is why oftentimes so many beautiful, well-meaning folks on the spiritual path tend to be poor and have money issues. These folks often feel that to be spiritual, one has to renounce all material goods and material well being.

NOT! The truth is that there is no inherent spirituality in being poor or in being rich. This misunderstanding comes about because it is true that being attached to your desire for material goods or your desire for wealth…in fact, being ‘attached’ to ANYTHING – can block you – mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Which means that if you’re attached to being poor and suffering, and believing this will improve you spiritually, that also is a block to real spiritual growth.

This belief about how the spiritual world and the material world may or may not fit together is heightened when what you are seeing in your reality is so much economic turmoil in your world.

However, it’s important to recognize that even in these so-called ‘very tough times’, many people are doing well today. So, how do you account for that? In fact, it is your CHOICE whether you want to live in a world of economic stress and strife or live in a world of economic abundance and wellness! This ability to choose your world requires letting go of your old belief systems around money and spirituality. I know, I know! This can be a big challenge for many of you on the spiritual path. And yet, it doesn’t have to be that way!

The truth is that the Universe is abundant and we can all enjoy abundance. As you awaken to your true nature, it may be necessary to let go of some of the striving and grasping for material goods you once held. It’s just a matter of WHY you are striving and grasping for material goods. For the sake of what? To be clear here, when you realize the striving and grasping for material goods is to fill a void, it does not serve you, and in your striving and grasping, you find you are not realizing the abundance and prosperity you are striving for. In fact, in the letting go of the striving, it does not lead to a place of poverty; rather, it leads to a new understanding of the abundance around you! If you can step into a new way of thinking and a new way of looking at your problems, this new awareness can be a wonderful force to move you forward on your path both spiritually and financially!

Connecting with Your Spirit Guides

Important and major decisions concerning careers and professions, relationships and family, ambitions and life goals sort of paralyze some people into not making a choice and just end up in a sort of limbo. In moments when you are faced with difficult decisions or dumfounded with what to do next, don’t you just wish there is someone or something that will just point you in the right direction? You have that something in your spirit guides.

You might be familiar with the concept of spirit guides. In fact, you probably think of them as angels, or totems or guardian spirits. It does not necessarily have to have the name for it to be one – whatever you may call them, the basic idea behind this is that there is a non-physical entity or entities that are aware of you and guiding you. Whatever this entity might be, it all depends on you. Spirit guides can take many forms and it is up to you to get in touch with your own and get to know it more. There are many ways to contact spirit guides. One method that you can do is visualization – clearing your mind and visualizing your guide and sensing it’s presence. This is basically opening yourself up and freeing your mind to allow your guide to better reach you.

I would also encourage you to try automatic writing. In automatic writing, you let your hand write anything – anything without being conscious or aware of what you are writing. The underlying belief here is that when you relax enough and open enough to connect with your spirit guide, then that guide will guide what you write and help you make better decisions.

In the end, what’s important is for you to recognize that you are not alone. There is a higher power that is with you always…guiding you in your every decision. Take the time to bring yourself into the NOW moment, get quiet and tap in.

There is a positive, invigorating energy that surrounds the start of a brand new year, an energy that helps us let go of the old and stake a claim for the new.
